How you can support the Ukraine situation

Page updated: 12/05/2022

The situation in Ukraine has affected us all in different ways in recent months. As a result, hundreds of thousands of people have fled and continue to flee their homes and have become separated from their families.

Across the UK and here in Walsall, individuals and organisations are coming together to seek ways of supporting the current crisis.

Below, Walsall for All has sourced information on how you can donate to appeals, as well as local help and support available for Ukrainian nationals and others affected by the situation.

This page will be updated when new information becomes available.

Homes for Ukraine

The government has launched a sponsorship scheme to make sure that Ukrainians who have been forced to flee their homes have a route to safety.

Nash Dom CIC

Nash Dom CIC has launched a collection campaign to support people affected by the war in Ukraine.

Over the last 8 days, they have been in continuous contact with Ukrainian families from the UK and those seeking refuge in Slovakia, Polonia and Moldova. Their Director visited the Slovakian border to find out from the first-hand sources the needs of those affected by the war. Ukrainian families they spoke with helped Nash Dom to come up with a list of essential items that they need to be able to survive away from home.
