A Christmas Blessing for Walsall’s Places of Welcome

Su Parker from Transforming Communities Together drops off a pack to a local venue

The Transforming Communities Together (TCT) Places of Welcome team wanted to share some good cheer across Walsall this Christmas time.

It has been a very difficult year for us all, but especially for the lovely Places of Welcome Coordinators after these venues of welcome and hospitality had to close in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

By way of a little Christmas blessing, the TCT Places of Welcome team wanted to let the coordinators and volunteers of all the 21 Walsall venues that we partner with know that we are thinking of them and that we remain hopeful, excited, and full of anticipation that Places of Welcome will be able to meet again soon.

Whilst the building doors have been closed, the coordinators and volunteers have been supporting their local communities in many other amazing ways.

We wanted to say a huge thank you for everything that they have been doing over these past ten months.

Places of Welcome venues have all received packs as a way of connecting this season.

Each venue received a pack containing:

  • An A4 Christmas poster, which can be displayed at venues, to keep the hope of re-opening the Place of Welcome next year going.

  • A TCT / Places of Welcome Christmas card for the Coordinator, with some extra cards and envelopes, to pass on to volunteers or Place of Welcome visitors that they have remained in touch with.
