Sonia Dixon, who worked at Walsall Central Library, set up the award-winning Black Reading Group. Members of the group have had their own works published in the book Dis N Dat, which was nominated for two awards at the United Kingdom's Kate Greenaway and Carnegie Awards. The group's awards have also included the Sister Dora Award, Celebrating Diversity, the Cultural Development Award, and highly commended in the Citizen's Impact Award in Walsall.
